Hello I was wondering how much to charge for this project. It's 48 linear feet of steel, welded up into a frame 83" x 31" sandblasted and powder coated. I just don't have a clue what to charge for labor, I have my cost for the steel and the powder coating. Thanks in advance, I have been lurking for a long time I guess it's time I show some of my projects. Reply:Hey thanks for the fast reply! Sorry the steel is 1" square tubing and the frame will be 1/8 flat stock 3" wide. A friend with deep pockets asked me to make this for there inside balcony, they are inserts for cut outs in the overlooking balcony wall. I went with 4" spacing thinking that would be good to help keep kids from getting stuck or falling threw. I was quoted $6.75 per linear foot for powder coating. Thanks again for any help guys!!
Reply:It's gonna take some time to put all that together and if you don't have a 3' x 7' flat surface to work on, even longer. I would do time + materials, what to charge per hour depends on your location. |
