Hey fellas,I'm strongly considering a certiflat tab and slot table to go in the corner of my dad's general purpose warehouse/workshop. They do automotive and floor machine repair there, but as I'm in welding school and have acquired a few welders, I am called upon, somewhat frequently, to fabricate small parts, stands for tools, brackets etc. Now I've established a small background of my needs, I'm curious as to the fixturing and clamping options available for one of these tables? The only alternative inmy mind is a fixture point table with clamping set from strong hand. However this is a fairly more costly option.I keep reading that the tab and slot has "standard 5/8" holes". Yet after some time researching, haven't been able to solidly locate a clamp that meets this criteria. If anyone has experience or suggestions related to this, I'd be incredibly thankful for your help. Even if you don't, opinions welcome! Thanks again y'all, mikeMiller Thunderbolt xl ac/dcHobart handler 140Miller sidekick (old mig welder at shop)Harris OAW and OAC torches @ school miller XMT 304 cc
Reply:I think they are saying that the 16mm (.629 not exactly 5/8" or .625) tooling from strong hand will work. I strongly considered one of those tables also and probably will still end up with one.
Reply:I'm trying to find what you're referencing, is it a strong hand tool, or a "good hand" toggle clamp? I've never used any kind of fixture/ welding table other than our very basic surfaces at school and like concrete, so I'm really green about this subject and don't wanna sink money unless I'm sure what I'm getting into. Sorry for being a moron lolMiller Thunderbolt xl ac/dcHobart handler 140Miller sidekick (old mig welder at shop)Harris OAW and OAC torches @ school miller XMT 304 cc

Reply:Certiflat in action with handmade clamps. I am going to build some others with Irwin "pipe" clamps. |
