Fabricating the tubing for my twin turbo build right now, and due to the thin 16 g tubing Im having to set my MIG machine hot and stitch weld it up so I don't burn through. I'm limited on what I can do with this cheap-o Lincoln Handy MIG. Anyways, instead of leaving the lumpy appearance I want to grin them down flush, I know that when you do that you lose some of the strength of the weld, but considering this is only exhaust tubing and it will only see 20 PSI of pressure, is it ok to grind this stuff down flush?
Reply:Yeah, should be good to grind it downA bunch of hot tacks work good. |
