I'm wondering what the diff is between ER50-6 and the ER70S-R wire ?
Reply:Sorry to bump.
Reply:where did you find ER70S-R? never even heard of it. 1st on WeldingWeb to have a scrolling sig! HTP Invertig 400HTP Invertig 221HTP ProPulse 300HTP ProPulse 200 x2HTP ProPulse 220MTSHTP Inverarc 200TLP HTP Microcut 875SC

Reply:If it is ER50-6, it is Electrode Roll or Rod 50,000 psi tensile strength - 6 is the amount of deoxidizers. Not sure if that is a solid wire or not.ER70S-6 is Electrode Roll or Rod 70,000 psi tensile strength Solid wire - 6 is the amount of deoxidizers. -2, -3, -6 are all very common. So the primary difference is strength.

Reply:Actually ER50-6 has exactly the same chemical composition and slightly better mechanical properties as ER70S-6.I did a search and found out it is according to a Chinese standard (GB/T 8110)http://www.nhzjj.com/asp/admin/edito...8165337422.pdfSo in theory they are almost the same thing.

Reply:That could explain alot. The Chinese equivalent of 70k psi is 50k psi. Now it all makes sense.
Reply:Lol!Actually it means MPa. |
