Well, I landed yesterday ! Spent about 2 hours last night, and let me tell you I have a new found respect for Tig welders out there, you have definitely some skill ! Feeding filler is something I need to work on, as I can only go a few inches.Broken a few cups, grinded a lot of tungsten, and ordered more filler and parts. And water cooled is definitely on my list ! Thanks again for all the feedback here on the process, I've been reading and watching videos nonstop. Miller 350PMiller 30AHobart trekHTP Invertig 221
Reply:awesome!! you'll get the hang of it with practice. feeding with one hand and controlling the torch with the other feels awkward at first. after a couple of hours you get used to it.
Reply:Hey the carry handle on yours looks to be silver! Mines a dull gray like the face/back plate! I want a refund! For the smaller parts you'll likely be practicing on, stopping after about an inch or two is actually a good thing because you don't want to get the part heat-soaked. A heat-soaked part changes a "variable", namely the welding amperage, without changing the amperage at the machine. So it's actually good if you stop and let the piece cool down (as well as the torch).Last edited by Oscar; 07-03-2014 at 12:39 PM. 1st on WeldingWeb to have a scrolling sig!
