A chandelier. Client provide design via internet photo. I did the fabrication. Came out well. Only issue was balancing the set. Since it is not a rigid set up it had to hang plumb. Initially the center pole would hang about 15 degrees off plumb. I had to add about 6 lbs of ballast to the two smallest toms, plus the original hardware made it perfect balance. The only modification to the drums is the holes for mounting/wiring and the holes in the heads on the top. The ballast were curved to fit the shape of the toms and mounted to existing holes. Also, had to enlarge the cymbal hole 1/8".The material is 3/4" rigid conduit and 16gx1-1/4" tubing. Painted chrome. Weighs about 90lbs. Brand new drum set. Welded and brazed. And a whole lot of thinkin. Attached ImagesLast edited by tapwelder; 08-31-2014 at 11:38 AM.
