Grandfathers clock project

am doing this project and hope to finish this soon. Its a 6 feet takk working grandfathers clock, with antique  mechanism...am on the finishing stage now and hopefully complete the painting very soon.. here are some progress photos..Mario Attached Images

Reply:Never have said anything negative about anything you've done, but this one is a bit strange.The type of clock has a very rich traditional background, and has always been a hallmark of fine woodworking.  Proportions are everything when building a grandfather clock.  Base smaller than the clock head, etc.......  The beauty of the wood set against the brass...............I see where you've gone, and I don't find it pleasing in metal.  This DOESN'T MEAN IT'S A BAD THING.  I just tend to like tradition when it comes to traditional furnishings.I'm a fairly accomplished woodworker by the way.I find that adherence to the traditions of Europe are called for in this instance.  It's like messing with the Mona Lisa, or Westminster Abbey.Sorry"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:That is a beautiful clock, it obviously is a great source of pride and accomplishment for you, the guns are always loaded at my house as well. My wife can hit a 7" paper plate at 75 ft with her m and p 9, so I have no worries when gone.RegardsDave
