Reply:Best way I found to stop hopper wear is weld in angle iron so it fills w/ rock and bolt 3/8" or I/2" flat, that's wider than the angle by an inch, to the angle so it takes the impact. When it wears down to the angle, replace. This may take 2 or 3 steps up the hopper depending on the width of the stream falling in the hopper and other variables.
