create realistic welding defects in carbon steel tubes

dear friends,        I would like to create realistic welding defects in carbon steel or alloy steel tubes for learning purpose. But i dont know how to do it. pls help me.

Reply:I have acouple of people at work who have perfected this lol. Na mostly weld dirty materials, use old consumables, use wrong machine settings ie to hot or cold, wrong arc length oh I could go on for daysSent from my C811 4G using TapatalkVantage 300 kubota ,miller 304 xmt ,lincoln ln 25 pro , ranger 305 G, plenty of other tools of the trade to make the sparks fly.

Reply:1. mig w/out shielding gas.2. flux core wire with insanely high wfs/voltage3. stick welding w/ high moisture rod.4. dirty/oily/painted steel (can be combined w/ 1 & 2)5. low wfs/voltage for wire size.unfortunately, I've done 1,2,4,5. - it all turns out bad but a few look 'ok' until stressed, then it's time to break out the grinder/sandblaster/die grinder and re-weld. kinda suspect ramasethu may be trolling but I'll give him/her the benefit of the doubt.
