Hi, As a hobbyist, I just picked up a used TX504 turbo extreme. I'm pretty psyched about it, but I haven't used it yet. Until just recently, I didn't know that there was even any such thing as "brazing". I'd always wanted to learn how to weld, but never had enough money for a welding rig. Now, with this, I can do some simple brazing. I want to braze one piece of stainless steel to another for use in my 10 gal. aquarium. I see that there are brazing rods that are made with silver and palladium. I have to wonder if the palladium would poison my fish, though. I have an old pure silver coin. If I use pieces of it, can I use it as brazing material for the stainless? This way, I wouldn't get any palladium in the aquarium. Do you think that it would hold?As a completely separate issue, has anyone done glasswork with this kind of torch? I don't know the first thing about annealing procedures with glass, and wonder if I could join a few pieces together without worrying about them shattering. Thanks a bunch.
