i have a mig 10 &i want to know if it's a good machine for starters & also want to know if you could do nice welds with it cause all i get is little balls can't seem to get those nice puddles im a beginner so don't have too much knowledge in this field im learning by trial n error but want to learn badly .. for my last question is it better to weld with gas or just as good with flux
Reply:Post some pictures of your welds, so we can see whats going on.Mig is always easier than flux core. Not as much happening in the puddle.Dont pay any attention to meIm just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
Reply:visibility without the slag partially covering the puddle is a huge benefit of welding MIG (using 75/25 argon/co2 mix). Post pictures of your machine with the settings you've used and for what parts have you been practicing on. 1st on WeldingWeb to have a scrolling sig! Reply:what do you mean by that(not as much happening in the puddle ) are you saying that gas mix is easier to weld with than just flux ? i will try to post some welds but im must warn you they're HORRIBLE i will also show you the settings &everything else i could think of that would be of benefit to me &you to see what im doing wrong .............. thanks .. im very grateful .
Reply:When youre new to welding, its hard to tell the difference between molten slag, and molten metal when looking at the puddle. With the Mig process its a lot easier to see molten steel! http://www.lincolnelectric.com/en-us...ed-detail.aspxDont pay any attention to meIm just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400

We don't know about your settings and can't see your attempted welds or anything at all about your technique , so we have absolutely no clue on where to begin to help you out. Until then this thread is just here for comical purposes. it all begins with YOU. |
