Hello and thanks to all who helped me get the ac225s running http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php...-repair-or-notI thought I would post a few pics of the first few welds I've got done with it after replacing the work and electrode clamps. top 3 welds was the very first when all I could get it strike was at 95 amps (with a 3/32 6011 electrode) was a tad hot and had to really move to keep it from burning through.bottom and bead to the right were run today with same rods at 75 amps and seemed much more managable. Just playing around on an old mower blade I had laying around. now looking at the pics that verticle bead i'm either moving too slow or its too cold. Let me know what you all think... I know the bottom was is really shaky and all over the place but I don't think its all that bad for not having done any stick welding for almost 20 years. gonna start on a pad of beads next using a 5x5 piece of 1/4" thick stuff
Reply:I don't think that bead on the right is too slow or cold, looks like you stacked some bead that's all. That would be how you would want to stack bead on a cap. Not bad IMO.
Reply:haha nbs.. problem is that is a single bead
