Reply:The upper joint is looking good. Keep your passes tight. Esthetically it would be nice to have the final pass a little narrower and lower than the preceding ones.
Reply:thanks oldsparks will try that
Reply:That sure seems to be a lot of bevel. My understanding is 37 1/2-degrees is normal. Some, myself included like 30-degree. Is that 4-inch, sch-80 pipe? If so I would run 1/8-inch 7018. Reply:you are right cep normaly its 37degrees but the guy in the shop made a mistake and the bevel is huge in the 4 inch pipes, looks like a sch 160 like that lol, plenty of rods to burn

Reply:1/8 for filling and 3/32 caping it gets really hot also with a bevel like that

Reply:its looking good Cep
Reply:Thank you!For me 6-G is hard to get it to look real uniform, with having to change the rod angle all the time. But welding pipe is very good practice for structural welding.Dont pay any attention to meIm just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400 |
