Couple place this could go but it isn't wrong here. Didn't work a dime on my torch table last couple of days, jumped over and finished up some other stuff ( I did use the table in a manual mode ). Made a adapter to get the Aloris Ax toolholder working on my lathe and.....I needed a weld positioner/rollout wheel, not quite done, needs a another splash of paint ( excuse my crummy painting skills) and the part so that it drops into the trailer hitch of my truck but that won't take too long now.
Reply:Nice. I have a big old faceplate that I've been saving to do something similar. Are you going to motorize it?
Reply:Fred you must be a pipe fabricator I have a similar rollout wheel Ill get pictures Tomorrow and post
Reply:Forhire," Are you going to motorize it? "Maybe, next is getting some 1" DOM tube rolled if you look there is hole in the side of the faceplate I am going to spoke it with a ring, get serious on the top part's paint to match up to my truck, and fab the part to attach and swivel down off my trailer hitch. Motorizing it would be simple though; probably a sprocket or a timing belt pulley and about a zip horsepower motor it spins really easy on the pillow block bearings. Can't really see it in the pics but it pulls out of the stand and drops into teloscoping square tube.
Reply:Here are the pics of what I use . Attached Images
Reply:Spurwelder,What are the two bolts on arms for?I need to get the ring and hitch setup done on mine, although mine I want to drop down. I also like your 3 position setup
Reply:The bottom 1 is so you can level up pieces you have chucked up . The top one is to hold it from spinning or hold something in 2 hole position while i tack it . Bigger flanges I bolt to an old propeller type bolt on rollout wheel then chuck it up. Ive rolled out 12" pieces that way ' |
