Got this today to cut 1/8x5/8 flat. Takes a little pressure to cut through it but i think it's gonna save me time from using a jig saw or band saw. plus it doesnt make noise!tried it on thinner sheet metal and it slices like butter. Anyone else have this shear?
Reply:Had time to use this a lot more, it's a life saver when it comes to making leaves out of sheet metal for my art. You have to make straight cuts but the bench grinder makes quick work of finishing the rest. Good thing about is the blades can be re sharpened.
Reply:I have a similar model. I added a fence for keeping metal straight. Made it out of Angle iron and drilled holes into the steel at the bottom of the shear. It worked well. I added a stop too. However, the stop must be move as parts are cut, if it doesn't move then parts will wedge and jam between the shear and stop.
Reply:titan I have a question, can you explain the process you use to make (leefs) thickness of metal etc with a few photos if possible, I am thinking about doing some of that soon.thanksRon
