I picked up a used 20 ton hydraulic press on Craigslist, a few things were tweaked but overall in pretty good shape.Here's the press with the mods I made. I added a piece of angle across the back of the feet to brace up the frame and give me somewhere to bolt on casters. I also put on small pieces of angle on the front of the feet for casters. I bolted the casters on, I welded casters on once and I'll never do that again!I built some shelves out of angle iron and expanded metal to put on the back side of the press for tooling .I used 3/4" round for the upper shelf support.I made a holder for the jack handle from some tube and a piece of flat bar. No more missing handle!I made a handle for the release valve out of tube and a bolt.I notched the tube to fit around the pin on the valve.The two pieces of channel that you rest the work on weren't flat to each other so I got some heavier channel and welded up a new piece being careful to make them flat and square.After using the press for a while I found that using locking casters isn't necessary, the press stays put unlocked.
