WeldPak feed issue

I have a WeldPak HD and it's decided to feed itself all the time. I've no clue where to start to try and fix it. It starts feeding as soon as you hit the power button. I've tried to clean the handle out thinking it may be jammed but...Any ideas of what to do will be most helpful. I'm a backyard beginnerThanks
Reply:I had the same machine, funny thing is, it is on top of my bench at work right now. I traded it to a co-worker who brought it by for a side job. I made a couple small horns for the handle to keep the unruly cables under control for him just yesterday. But, back to the feeder, I am guessing the trigger in the handle in the whip is suspect, but you definitely have something in the trigger circuitry causing full-time feeding. Is it under warranty? Do you have a volt/ohmmeter and a schematic? If you take all the screws out of the case, you will see all the components that go along with a pair of transformers. Blow it all out and start testing perhaps.I have been having feeding trouble with my machine, it feeds very erratically. Watching the spool shows that the wire tension comes tight, then jerks a certain amount from the spool which stops until the slack comes tight again. Reply:I have the same machine and it did the same problem. All i did was take apart my trigger assembly and blew it out with compressed air, put it all back together and it worked perfectly. Try that.Ya gotta spend money to make money!
