Reply:I wondered of you were going to hit that auction.    Good score.  Now you will need a bigger shop for all those toys. You didn't get another of those red Ford crew cab and chassis did yay.   You will be getting good at building flatbeds.Last edited by soutthpaw; 10-05-2014 at 12:01 AM.Tiger Sales:  AHP Distributor    www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P,  Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma.  For Sale:  Cobra Mig 250 w/ Push-pull gun.  Lincoln Wirematic 250

Reply:Anyway,Time to get it all spruced up to sell.Same with my sw175.
Reply:Nice score ak! I have a few questions. Is the auction open to the public or is there a fee to get through the gate? I have a ritchey bros not too far north of me and would really like an engine drive. How much did the smaller engine drives go for?Thermal arc 211iCk flex-loc 150 & 130Clamps, saws & grindersHarbor freight 80 amp inverter

Reply:Originally Posted by soutthpawIt's free to attend but first time bidders have to leave a $2500 deposit.   I believe it can still be done by credit card.   Then you have sales tax and a 10% buyer premium. 2% premium on lots that sell over $2500.  3% added if you pay by credit card too.Keep in mind there is no way to test these machines.  The engine powered machines will sometimes start up though

Reply:Any of the farm auctions I've been to up here, the 20 yr old AC/DC machines go for $400 plus. With small Lincolns selling for $700 new I never thought it was worth the risk. Reply:Wow I wouldn't have guessed they would be so expensive. A new bobcat could be had for 3800$, I'd rather go that route and get a warranty plus knowing it works.Thermal arc 211iCk flex-loc 150 & 130Clamps, saws & grindersHarbor freight 80 amp inverter

Reply:I used to work at the VECO shop in Anchorage. Didn't they get taken over by CH2M Hill in 2007? Wonder where those machines have been in the meantime, sitting in storage somewhere?Last edited by TimmyTIG; 10-06-2014 at 04:16 PM.

Reply:Who knows? Maybe CH2M Hill was using them with the stickers still on, maybe they were in storage... I do know that was 7 years ago.
Reply:they're all dusty like they've been in storage. Make sure you blow them out good first.

Reply:Originally Posted by AKweldshopMost of the machines had dead battery's.The millers all started up tho.Yeah,10% buyers premium on items under $2500.We've been going to there auctions for years, I'm not sure on new bidders. But it's free to attend for us.Just show them your ID, and a cpl other things, and you have a bidders number. You can read more on their website.
Reply:I'll buy the occasional truck at auction, but I set a very low floor on the bid.I don't mind buying junk, but I will only pay a junk price. My feeling is that a $2000 truck, with all it's faults, is better than a $6-10,000 truck with THE SAME FAULTS.  I always look at used equipment with the idea that it will take thousands of dollars to set it right.  Buying on the low end leaves the extra thousands in my pocket to do the necessary work."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
