Doing the same thing a lot of folks do need reels for my gas bottle setup. A couple of questions:1. I have always used 3/8 hose, do you loose pressure on 1/4, any drawbacks?2. The second question is about reels, I have looked at fair amount; I am working on fitting a reel into the space on my truck but the reels I have found are either too small of capacity, OR they have the capacity and are too big, tall and skinny which won't fit. I have looked at Cox, Reelcraft, and even some mega dollar reels, and cheapie reels no go.What I really want to know is here is a COX reel: http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too...3305_200323305I am looking for the double hose swivel, doesn't need to be that exact one just a two hose oxy/acet swivel, I am about ready to buy a cheap reel and rob parts, as I figure I am going to end up making my own to fit.Called House of Hose locally( no ) looked everywhere on line, Mcmaster, Ebay...all the local welding stores, air compressor shops....zipAnybody got a source on these?
Reply:I have 100 feet of 1/4" hose on my truck that is on a reel and I have had no problems. The reel is in a box and the hose has been on there at least 15 years now and still no problems. I have used a # 10 rose bud on it with no problems so I think your good to go. |
