Anybody ever put a different type engine in a Lincoln welder? My old sa200 has no starter and needs a fresh rebuild. I have a 4 cylinder engine out of an Owatonna swather. I have them both out and it looks do able. Its the same engine they used in the Chevy 2s and chevettes. I think thats what they were called. Ford man here. Just checking what other ideas everybody has come up with. Harold
Reply:Didnt they put GM 4 cyl in them when they couldn't get the continail engines any more?
Reply:I have never seen one. Continentals are in everything almost, never figured they couldnt get one.
Reply:I thought that they were using the GM engines before they went all diesel engines
