found a reasonable anvil at a reasonable price..pretty sure its a fisher norris, no marks other than what looks like a "2" under the horn and of course the eagle on the anchor..i read that they stopped using the eagle for a number of years around 1866 because the south during reconstruction wouldnt buy them, didnt want to see the eagle, symbol of the Fed govment..about an hour to powerbrush off all the loose rust, and a little wd40 and some heat makes a nice rustresistant skin..one edge is damaged, the other pretty good..$200 includes a cutoff hardy and another hardy tool..nice used portaband..variable speed..$55..
