Hi Guy's, Let me start by saying happy T-Day to all.I was just wondering if anyone has ever installed an electric start set up on a Weldanpower 150 AC unit before? If so could you give me a parts list and a brief description of the installation process?Thanks Ahead, George.If I Can't Weld It!-----It Can't Be Welded!
Reply:George,Assuming your Weldanpower 150 is powered by an 11hp Briggs & Stratton, the easiest way to outfit it with an electric starter is to find a used / blown engine that has the parts required to convert it.  Even the vertical shaft version will have what you need.  Yours should be pre-equipped to accept the starter assembly and once installed all you would have to do is rig up a battery and starter switch.  To keep the battery charged you will need to add a voltage regulator for the engine generator output and hook it up to the battery system.  Again, the easiest way to do this would be to find a donor engine.  I've got such a critter for the Weldanpower 150 pictured below but I just haven't gotten around to making the conversion yet.To determine if your engine is ready to accept a starter, it should look like the one in the before & after photos below.Starter mounting bolt locations (red arrows) and starter opening cover (black arrow).Flywheel reing gear.Starter mounting location under fuel tank.If you want/need to buy new parts, the B&S part numbers for the main items required are:693054 - Starter Assembly299139 - Starter Button395405 - Starter Drive CoverYou can look up everything you need here: http://www.briggsandstratton.com/mai...=MS6928_LO.pdfMM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
