going to look at one in the morning. I don't have a lot of amperage to my garage so I was planning to buy an Everlast inverter type this weekend which I like for the lower amperage draw, the pulse and adjustability, but obviously the big downside is that it's an offshore brand. I'm not thrilled about the size and age of the lincoln, but it's cheap and american. Does anyone have any input? I've heard the PFC version draws about 85 amps and I only have 50 to my garage, will it be usable for tig on thin stuff like sheetmetal and thin wall aluminum tubing? I'm guessing stick welding my rotisserie project is out of the question without more power? (between .188 and .25 mild steel)
Reply:I believe if you keep it below 150 amps you should be able to get away with having a 50 amp breaker, so you should be good for thin stuff on tig but if you run it for a good length of time it may throw your breaker. These machines were built to last and are good tig machines. My vintage equipment 1957 Lincoln sa 2001980's Lincoln 225 AC1952 F-2 ford truck1957 F-250 ford truck
