here is a belt buckle i am in the process of making. it was inspired by the work of Brown Dog welding. He's got some pretty good looking stuff. I still need to add the attaching hardware to the back and then polish it up. Should make a nice christmas present for my father. The symbol is the brand we use for our cattle in case you were wondering. It is read as "five spear bar. I'll add more pictures of the progress as i work on it. Brown Dog Welding calls his work tattooed metal. I thought it was pretty cool stuff. Any one else have any experience using a torch to weld images or words?
Reply:I was thinking the 5 was referring something else nice color in those welds
Reply:This is some ss stick rod on a steel harrow disc. The inspiration for the face was the "Two Scoops" Raisin Bran Sun. Got a stack of harrow discs and ideas for some more "Suns" (and Moons) and will probably use TIG for putting the details on them. Just didn't have that process available at the place I made this one.
Reply:thats some nice work. its good to see other people are interested in this type of welding.
Reply:I put some short straight ss TIG beads on this armillary sphere to mark the hours and half hours. I was wanting to put some roman numerals on it also but the owner of it didn't want that.I put this design (a friend's personal logo) on this bell with stick rod.
Reply:Cool stuff
