Hey guys, just joined the forum recently. Thought I'd post a few random pics of some of the projects I've worked on. My real job is as an IT/Facilities Manager. I've only been at this a couple of years and still have a lot to learn but I really enjoy doing this work on the side.Mailbox for the house:Security bars for basement windows:Hand rail for ramp at church:2 sets of hand rails for steps. One set the lower post is anchored to concrete, on the other the posts go in ground:More to come.GraysOrnamentalIron.com
Reply:Nice handrails!Just a couple welders, big hammers, grinders, and torches.Work will free you.Men in dirty jeans built this country, while men in clean suits have destroyed it. Trump/Carson 2016-2024
Reply:The mail box looks like one you could get at any hardware store, just with a fancy paint job on it. Did you buy the post and support bracket? The handrails look good though.

Reply:Well then, that makes a bit more sense on the post. That turned out real well too then. I was wondering why you went to the trouble of building a mailbox that looks just like a store bought one, and then buy a fancy post to put it on. Now you need to make a custom box to go with the post and support bracket. Is that a trailer ball on top of the post?

Reply:Are the hinge pins on the security insert welded on one end? If not, pins can be tapped out to temove insert.
