I've searched up and down but can't really find a good answer. I know what i'm willing to pay but i'm more curious what a true to the market fair price is for a Miller 330 a/bp. Its a relatively clean machine for its age, no rust on the tins, comes with pedal, torch, cooler, stinger and some other odds and ends.Asking price is 1200, I actually am comfortable paying that because the machine would be worth that to me, but what i'm concerned with is, is that an actual fair price. I've seen them advertised for that price but they usually sell in the 700 range.ESAB MigMaster 275Miller Econotwin HFMiller Syncrowave 250

Reply:I sold mine for $600.  Bought it for less,    the bigger the machine the less people generally pay for them. Its a buyers market as not a lot of people want a 850 lb welder that is the size of a fridge....    1200 is way high for a 330 abp.    I woud say $500 to 800 is the common range loaded with the accessories you listed..  keep in mind Airco 300 and a couple other brands are the same machine in different colors...  if its not blue then it will cost even less.   Mine was the airco versionTiger Sales:  AHP Distributor    www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P,  Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma.  For Sale:  Cobra Mig 250 w/ Push-pull gun.  Lincoln Wirematic 250

Reply:one can find 'em all the tine for a grand but, me personally, I won't give more than $500, and then it would have to be in excellent shape.  Wouldn't trade mine for the world 'cause it's a tiggin' honey and with the remote built in I have run 110V feeders off of it and stick welding proves to have a reallt smooth arc but more times than not older machines take a lot of work to repair/find parts for/setup and, as previously mentioned, 330 ABP's weigh a ton and a lot of folks are trying to get rid of them just for that fact. Mostly what folks want these machines for, in my experience, is a single phase machine with high freq. If you buy one don't take a couple of buddies to go get it,,take a forklift! Good luck
Reply:The 330 is about the most efficient single phase welder out there if u are looking to weld up to 465 amps AC at 104 amp current draw..  at least that was what the specs said.   Probably the most affordable way to do high current AC TIG.   The reason I sold mine was I landed a deal on my Inverter tig machine.   And wanted half my garage space backTiger Sales:  AHP Distributor    www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P,  Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma.  For Sale:  Cobra Mig 250 w/ Push-pull gun.  Lincoln Wirematic 250
Reply:I picked up mine in very nice shape with torch, pedal, leads and accessories for $200.... was looking for a back up cheaper tig for the shop so I can leave my dynasty home. I saw the listing on craigslist and jumped, I had a pickup truck down there that night, luckily the guy had a loading dock, was just me and one skinny kid, still don't know how the hell we got that thing back to the shop but we did  great machine, so smooth and will last forever I'd shoot for ~$500-$600 topsmiller 330a bp TIGmiller dynasty 200DX TIGmillermatic 185 MIGthermal dynamics cutmaster 101 plasma cuttersnap-on YA5550 plasma cutterhypertherm powermax 30 plasma cutterbaileigh CS225 cold sawetc....
Reply:There's a clean one on LI CL for $500 asking.  For the life of me, I cannot find right now.  I see them routinely for sub $750 asking price on CL in very good shape and sometimes with alot of accessories.  Keep in mind that its a Sine Wave machine, so Aluminum welding will be more difficult than with a squarewave.   I think the guys who can make aesthetic beads with a sine wave machine are especially talented (ie Zap).If you're willing to drive this far, pm me and I'll find the email w pics of the welder.Last edited by Drf255; 07-03-2012 at 05:36 AM.TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum

Reply:Look in the background of some of Zapster's photos.  Its the machine he uses...   If u have seen his welds then pretty much says all u need to know about those machines..Tiger Sales:  AHP Distributor    www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P,  Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma.  For Sale:  Cobra Mig 250 w/ Push-pull gun.  Lincoln Wirematic 250
Reply:I've used a 330 before at a shop but it was for stainless and carbon steel, I never ran one on aluminum, I'm in the market for a new used machine and one popped up local to me so I was just trying to figure out a fair price for it. There's a few other out there but people think because it says miller or lincoln they can ask new or more than new prices for 15 year old machines.ESAB MigMaster 275Miller Econotwin HFMiller Syncrowave 250
Reply:I have a 330.  It works great on aluminum, that's my material of choice.  I paid about $300 for mine,  not in working condition, and had to fix a couple things on it.  Sent from my iPhone via tapatalkChuck Norris was born in a log cabin that he built with his own bare hands.
Reply:Well the 330 isn't happening, someone is selling a Syncrowave 250 closer to me and I can't pass up the price, plus I have a feeling i'll be a little more happier with it. I only wanted the 330 if the price was right, but realistically i'll never use that machine to its full potential.ESAB MigMaster 275Miller Econotwin HFMiller Syncrowave 250
Reply:I'd take a Syncro 250 over a 330A/BP. Both are nice machines, but I think the Syncro is nicer. The real selling point of the older machines like the 330 is that you can pick up very nice sold machines at a very good price most times. If prices top $1K however, there are lots of nicer machines, like the smaller Syncrowaves, that are newer, lighter, have more options for just about the same amount of money. If you don't need all the output power of the 330, then other machines start to make more sense. If you need a 300+ amp machine, then the 330's still make sense as you probably won't find many newer used 300+ amp AC/DC tigs below $2500 on average..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Just to add to DSW's comment you also won't find many new transformer machines that will do 300+ amps AND run on single Phase.Tiger Sales:  AHP Distributor    www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P,  Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma.  For Sale:  Cobra Mig 250 w/ Push-pull gun.  Lincoln Wirematic 250

Reply:So far i'm happy with the sync, welds just a crisp as my Econotwin but of course it has many more options. I'm not digging the hand amperage control though, definitely going to have to get a foot pedal.ESAB MigMaster 275Miller Econotwin HFMiller Syncrowave 250
