Best helmet for overhead welding with hardhat/ $200 or less?

I am getting ready to get onto a site where I will have to wear a hard hat and do a lot of overhead welding. I was considering a pipeliner hood with the AD lens already installed. I like the Jackson HSL100 with the wide lens as well but I've been told that it isn't good for overhead welding. I'd like to keep my cost around $200 or less. I'd like a hood with good visibility and that works well with a hard hat since I'll be wearing one at all times. Any suggestions?

Reply:I do overhead MIG daily and use a pipeliner hood with s240 ArcOne auto dark.  I have a Jackson Shadow HLS1 and it is horrible for overhead it lets a lot of light in from under the hood and my head gets burnt up.
Reply:The best helmet hard hat combo is Fibre-Metal with Quick locks. The most common helmet is a 4906 that comes with the quickloks and without a headgear and has a flip front. You just have to use Fibre-Metal hard with the quick loks. You can buy the Quick loks for the helmets separately but I've never actually looked to see if a Pipeliner is the right width to work on the hard hat. There's other hard hat adaptors but the Quick loks are the best in my opinion. An auto lens could be fitted to a 4906 or pipeliner but for everything might be a little over $200.
Reply:Another thing to take note on. With the hard hat you want to make sure you get a ratchet head gear. Before the ratchet head gear came out, hard hat welding hoods were a huge pain in the a$$. Even with the ratchet head gear they are still a pain in the a$$ just not as bad! Reply:On the construction site I use a fibre metal hard hat with a fibre metal shield and the quick lock package to connect them. I prefer the flip front window for grinding purposes. Reply:I wear the fibre metal hard hat with no protrusions and use either a Jackson W10 HSL-2 flip front, or a pipe liner, with either one you will need a halo adapter to mount the welding helmet to the hard hat. The Jackson on fleabay is $32 shipped, hard hat and adapter $50, and you have a few bucks left for an AD shade if you want. You may want to note that when welding over head you are most likely to lose the hat and hood when you try to look up with the hood up. This is when the flip front becomes really handy, and at $32 shipped with the 370 head gear what's not to like?
