Horseshoe project

I put this together for my sisters daughter for Christmas. She likes horses and is in the Girl Scouts . I put a nut on the base so it could be taken apart to ship it.

Reply:Nice ! Horseshoes are nice to work with especially new ones. I did a horseshoe Christmas tree for the neighbor using new shoes that I posted. Not too bad in price, $3.00 at Tractor supply. I'm working on a snowman using recycled ones from her horse.

Reply:I have a source for used horseshoes. I built some pumpkins out of horeshoes for halloween at my wife's request. I went to Tractor Supply.Cleaning crap and rust and removing nails cured me of the second hand thing.

Reply:I'd grown pretty tired of things made out of horse shoes but some of these things are rekindling my interest.   I particularly like that that armadillo.   I like the look of that trivet also.

Reply:Couple of mine. I get buckets for free from a local farrier, pain to clean but I have developed several methods to speed things up. Anyway, here are the pics! Attached Images
Reply:Looks nice ! ''  pain to clean but I have developed several methods to speed things up ''I soak the recycled shoes in vinegar and then use a wire wheel. I have a motor with arbor that has two wire wheels , one soft one stiff mounted side by side. Works well but yes, a pain.
