Sure....Just leave it on the bench.Bearing and seal housing for a parking lot sweeper..Supposedly a new one is big $$$$$ and who wants to spend that?Of course it's greasy dirty and slimy.Housing..Try to save the seal....Ummmmmmmmm what seal? After the acetone and stainless brush treatment..For some reason it just don't fit back together right...Next!...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:As we continue..After removing the burr it fits like it should..Wow..Where did that hole come from?Clamp in place..As I was welding along...The housing got really hot and the bearing race removed itself..Sorry about the small pics..Damn phone.Next!...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:I wouldn't have the capacity to repair that and be comfortable with the repair if it is a load bearing part. If not it could be tacked back together after verifying the dimensions of the mounting faces and aligning them for parallelism. Being a cast steel part, (assumption) I'd warm it well in an oven and weld it up while hot a few inches, then rewarm it and continue. It is not a hard part to reproduce with a lathe and mill if the dimensions are known.Edit: I see you are in the process of the repair as I was typing. I assumed the repair was completed by the photo stream.SlobPurveyor of intimate unparalleled knowledge of nothing about everything.Oh yeah, also an unabashed internet "Troll" too.....
Reply:There..All done.I did not get any die grinder prep pics (Sorry) but it came out just fine..After it was done all I had to do was put the bearing race back where it belonged and let it cool..This makes #4 of this type repair.Blows my mind that something can get this bad and nobody notices until it's way too late.Finish up the pics..Welder on kill..1/16" 5356..3/32" Red..Pedal in use.I get all the fun jobs.......zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:Originally Posted by MinnesotaDaveI'm thinking the difference must be a water cooled torch??Only reason I'm thinking that is my Airco blows the ends off 3/32" tungstens at 200-230 amps AC with a wp-26.That repair looks excellent
Reply:Nice Job!I get stuff like that also. First thing I ask is if the part is available and what does it cost. Customers appreciate when I tell them up front if they are better off getting a new part or repair is cost effective.Of course sometimes the part is not available or the time to get it would leave them out of service too long, then we fix.

Reply:Nice repair as always. They must have hit something. In your post #4, image #4, it that a crack on the gusset or a casting mark?
Reply:Looks really good. At first I didn't realize it was aluminum. Guys that do a lot of aluminum say it's the nicest stuff to work with and this is an example of that. If that was cast iron, it wouldn't be worth trying to fix.
