Nutz and Boltz

So if you go the local hardware store or lumber yard and go to the bolt bins, in my area we see grade 5 and grade 2 bolts of various sizes. But, the problem is, there is only one set of nuts. If I want grade 5 strength, it sorta defeats the purpose to purchase lower grade nuts. The bin doesnt say what the nuts are. Does anyone know if these are grade 5 or not as a general rule?Thanks!
Reply:That is something you need to ask the person that orders them if they are smart enough to know themselves. Around here they are grade 2 unless you get a grade 8 then you get grd 8 nuts.Grd 5 you get grd 2 nuts.. I became disturbed by this myself so I went and ordered grd 5 nuts 25 in a box from Mcmaster 1/4-5/8 sizes let the store handle the bolts.

Reply:At my local hardware store they have nuts and bolts in coarse thread grade 2 (I assume they are grade two as they are unmarked) and nuts and bolts in grade 8 in both coarse and fine thread, only a few grade 5 in the little drawers. Reply:Buy nuts and bolts at nut & bolt stores. 1/2 the price of box stores, likely usa made parts, much better variety and knowledgeable people.
Reply:Bolts and Nuts are important to fit any kind of machinery. It basic requirement for the organization work for the elements. It held the spark the representative of the machines parts very strongly.
