SA 200 upgrades electrical troubleshooting

This weekend I installed the following upgrades in my sa 200 code 5496.One wire Alternator kit from BWRAutomatic Idler kit from Stumpfs and remote rheostat kit from Stumpfs.Got her put back together and started long enough to use the grinder out of the outlet on the front of the machine-seemed normal. tried the outlet on the remote box and did not work/idle stayed the same.At this time I noticed the original rheostat was getting very hot so I shut the machine off to troubleshoot. Shot it with a temp gun and was over 300. ( ok, so I've never felt a rheostat with a machine running but this seemed odd   Also toggled the high Idle switch and it didnt seem to make any difference in the RPM's.A couple of grey/confusing areas in the directionsOn the Idler kit, two wires ( blue and white) go to the idler solenoid but it is unclear as to which posts they go to and it is possible that I have them 180 out.Reed Switch. I removed one end of the copper strap behind the range selector and installed the reed switch between the negative welding post and the copper strap-sound right?The colors on the wiring going to my 110(5) dc outlet are old and faded and I am worried I may have tapped into the wrong side, however the grinder seems to be turning the correct way. Reply:Go back and reread your directions. go through them step by step and make sure they are in the right place. Then check your machine diagram for those connection points make sure the wires are right. Some thing is in the wrong place. you just have to find it. If you do not have a good diagram for your machine. Ask Lincoln for a new one. they will send it to you.Ask with the code number.
