Reply:Did you check the brushes on the exciter? Trace the black and red wire back to the brushes, make sure they're not broken, ate through!Dont pay any attention to meIm just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
Reply:If machine welds, exciter is OK. The two exciter outputs go directly to outlet, so bad connection, internal break are about the only two possibilities. weldersales
Reply:X2 on what Larry (weldersales) said.If equipped with an electronic idler and wired as such, check the "black" wire connections at the idler board. The black exciter output and brown main generator shunt wires are connected together with one of the black wires going to the idler board that then comes out of the idler board on the other black wire to the auxiliary outlet. Other wiring methods have been utilized but this is another possibility that makes sense. If any of the wires/connections beyond the black/brown joining point outside of the main generator housing are broken/bad it will prevent power at the auxiliary outlet.Last edited by duaneb55; 09-14-2010 at 06:27 PM.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
