Been looking at the Everlast Powerplazma 60S or 80S.   On their web site it states they both come with a Trafimet S-75 torch. After reading some recent reviews on Amazon. It looks like they are not shipping with the S-75 but the ipt-60 torch.  Apparently Everlast claims this is an upgrade to 2016 models. The S-75 seems to be a very popular torch and the consumables can be had at a very reasonable rate.  I always get a little wary of a company that is not shipping what they state.  Like, what does it take to update an entry on your web site.Does anyone have any experience with these torches?  This is all research for a couple books I am writing. I currently plan on researching at least three cutters. Some low end cutter probably a Lotos 50Amp pilot archMiddle of the ground probably Everlast 60SHigh end Hypertherm PowerMax 65
Reply:I have a Lotos LTP5000 and I like it. works good and will cut 1/2 inch and thinner with no problems. And it can cut up to an inch if you go slow. The consumables are not bad in price either and do last for a good while. Now at max it is a 40% duty cycle unit. But the I have never had it to stop working or hit the over temp point. Also I would put at the top end of the low end for price wise units.  Just use it on 240 volts setup. even thought it does have dual voltage. I found that that works the best for it.Last edited by tinker001; 02-21-2016 at 07:02 AM.
Reply:The Lotos LTP5000 units used to come with CNC interface ports on the back.  Now, according to the manuals, they don't.  This does not mean it cant be used as a CNC plasma cutter, Its just a little harder.Have you considered using the LTP5000 on a CNC?
Reply:Yes I have. That is way I bought in the first place just have not built the table yet.I should have said that I have LTP5000D LOTOS sorry. Should have bought the THC then too it was around $ 60  now the same one they want $200  apiece. Dang hobby is getting expensive.
Reply:Which THC are you looking at?
Reply:proma  when he first put them on ebay they where like 60 and free shipping.Klutch 220si mig , stick, and dc tigHobart 140 AHP ALPHA 200X 2016Lotos LTP5000DSmith O/P
Reply:If you are going to build your own table.  You will have to do some major shielding with the LOTOS. I have done a ton of experiments of how the HFstart on my welder affects various controllers and other electronics.  I think this is the reason most DIY plasma cutter builds dont get off the ground.I plan on using both HFstart and blowback with and without HF.  The way I see it I will probably start with the LOTOS as it is probably the worst to interface.
Reply:Here is something when I first got mine the seller said you need to ground the table and the cutter to a separate ground rod . Not use the electrical ground. That might be something for you to think about.Klutch 220si mig , stick, and dc tigHobart 140 AHP ALPHA 200X 2016Lotos LTP5000DSmith O/P
Reply:Done that.  Its just the start though. Here is what I do next:All wires and cables that are connected to motors or switches are encased in metal sleeves and ran to a junction box.  Conduit cable with 5, four conductor (with shield) are inside the conduit.  The Conduit runs to another box mounted on or near the controller/computer. I'm still playing with how to ground the conduit and junction boxes.  Will probably just run another outside ground rod.  But even without that I can now run my HF start welder now for fusion welds on the CNC.
Reply:Oh, one thing that's a 100% must.  IF you are running a parallel port cable, make sure you purchase some of those ferrite cores and attach them to it on both ends. I place one of the cores on every cord that plugs into the computer.
Reply:also you do not connect the shield side of the cable to the table, motor or anything else . Only connect the shield side of your cables to the case that has your electronics in. It looks like you might have setup a ground loop. Without  seeing more than that picture and seeing the way all of the cable are connect. That is my Best guess of what is being seen .Last edited by tinker001; 02-25-2016 at 11:48 AM.Klutch 220si mig , stick, and dc tigHobart 140 AHP ALPHA 200X 2016Lotos LTP5000DSmith O/P
Reply:Actually the conduit and shielding cable are not connected to ground.  Currently they are not connected to anything other than where the box attaches to the frame.  That will eventually change, but in any case no ground loop.  Honestly I was jut going to run a wire from the conduit/sleeves to their own ground rod.
