I got a request to build another "nameplate" for someone who is a fan of a little rock group.......Took about 3 Saturdays to build it.......I haven't weighed it yet...... but guessing it's in the 45 to 50lb range.....All 1/4" steel with a 2" quarter wall tube as the base..... From the scrap bin......3/4" Aluminum backing that is burnished for a particular look and feel then bolted to the back steel plate.......PICS......Precision TIG 185 and MP 210Bobcat 225NTCutmaster 42O/A tanks.... 2 Argon tanks...... 2 C25 TanksFacebook...... Reply:fexal, I'm so old I had to search online to learn what that name meant! So this isn't a fault finding post, just an idea that I noticed from the two photos. In one photo there's a little incline to the camera so the letters' fore most edges overhang the backing/base bar. In the 'straight on' photo, there's no separation to the base so the L's lower edge get 'lost' in the black silhouette. My suggestion is to use what I've heard called white area, or some separation to the nearest item in a poster, picture, image or sculpture ( that's what I'd call this name placard) to give the eye a little more separation from the near shapes. So by lifting all the letters just a 1/8" or so, there would appear a little white area showing the letters more clearly on the lowest edge, and the name would still have the same shape or distinctive font and balance.Nice job, your craftsmanship has sure gone up in the last few years as  you've shown in more and more well built projects. Thanks for posting, I'm always going to encourage your drawing planning time is as important as the welding and fitting work since I feel that is the foundation of the work.Looking good!Cheers,Kevin MorinKenai, AK
