I have a Weldanpower AC/DC welder/generator that will not idle up with a load, from the generator or welder, they both work, just not very well when they will not idle up, if i manually hold open the throttle all ok. Code is 8705. The best schematic I have found however shows electric start which I do have, but shows Briggs engine, I have the Onan. The schematic show pin 213 and 215 to the solenoid, and my unit actual is pin is 214 that powers the solenoid, if I remove pin 214 from the idle board, the solenoid is no longer energized and idle stayes up. Also, the control switch on the front of the welder when switching to man. high idle does not work either. I did notice broken wire terminal on the battery charging board, appears to be circuit 208 direct from the amp. meter, powering up the board. I do not think this should have any effect on the idle up problem, not sure. battery does go dead after use, so I would think the broken terminal could effect that portion for sure. Images attached. Any help would be much appreciated Attached Images
Reply:That's a Briggs engine.PM me an e-mail address and I'll send you some information.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:thank you very much, shows you what I know! Briggs, cool, now the schematic I have makes more [email protected]

Reply:Thank you Duane,I can handle broken terminal solder repair. and the schematics you sent look more accurate than what I had. I did not have the one on the idler circuit, that should help. I will let you knowTom
Reply:Sounds good. When troubleshooting the idler, keep in mind the board controls the 12vdc ground (terminal 5) to the idle solenoid on terminal 215.  12vdc (+) simply feeds thru the board from terminal 213 to 214 and on to the solenoid.  Low AC voltage input signals from the weld output current transformer (terminals 216 & 217) or power output CT (terminals 218 & 3) to the board control circuits opens the solenoid ground to allow engine speed to increase to weld/power speed.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:. . . that should be power output CT (terminals 218 & 5) . . .Sorry about that.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Hey Duane:i have a quesiton on my Weldanpower Code 8928.  Engine automatic high idle no longer works, but when you use the switch , it does. Prior to having to do the work of replacing the fan and broken through bolt, all worked as it should ,. both generator and wwelder. Checked careful for any broken wires and continuity good . Also, I noticed when I pull the ground off the battery while running the idle increases. Put it back on and it decreases. So what is up with this? Am I suppoed to polarizhis or something? Thanks for the help
