I posted this in the general questions section but it might be better here.Back at my school we had Miller Dialarc 250s. Now in my testing location, its Lincoln Invertecs. They have this entire extra set of switched that looks alien to me! What is the different between soft and crisp? It has a hot start set up from 0 to 10 and some other settings... I have never messed with anything like this and I don't want to experiment on my test coupons.
Reply:Go to lincoln electric .com and get the owners manual. it will help.Hot start is easy, it set the weld current at arc start. helps get the arc going and helps keep the rod from sticking.soft and crisp help match the arc to the rod used.soft is more general and crisp is for pipe.Hot start changes is the two modes. Read the right owners manual for the code number invertec.I am assuming you are using an invertec 350 pro. Most of the controls do different things. depending if you are in cv or cc.If it is an ivertec STT do not even try to use or adjust with out the operators manual in hand.beautiful welding machine if set right . but must be set from the charts you can not wing on those machines. |
