Reply:The sync 200 is less powerful than the Sync 250 you had. No real advantage to the down sized machine except maybe the lower input power.The TA 185 is a nice machine. Figure 3/16" alum as the practical max. I probably would have looked real hard at one when I bought my Sync 200 if I'd known about them then.For portability, I'd say the Dynasty 200. You'll be able to do more than the Sync 200, but not as much as the Sync 250, but it weighs a lot less and uses less power..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Seriously they may be old, they may be ugly, they may be loud, they may burn up alot of electricity, but they have a nostalgic feeling to them, plus every time you turn the switch on they work. The best machine in the world cannot operate its self. That was just my point. To each his own, why do you think miller and lincoln stay in business, you couldn't give me a sa-200 to use every day, heres why, not enough stand by power, and no AC output. The new trailblazer 325 wont do what i want, it doesn't have AC weld output, i know their idea behind this decision, just go buy a dynasty, well i already have a bunch of stuff that sits idle that cost over 5000$ maybe i dont want to buy one, plus my high freq box works just fine. What i am getting at is, not every machine is rite for each person, but i still like to throw some humor into the conversation, myself i am partial to a machine that works every time. It doesn't matter if its aluminum or stainless, i can produce the same weld with a precision tig, a 1955 gold star, or a dynasty, or a longevity, what makes the difference is me and my abilities.I forgot how to change this.
