Flux Core Welding Pot Metal

I know it's mostly zinc, but I was wondering if it were at all possible, and how strong the joint would be afterwards? I have a Tweco Fabricator 181i, so I can do TIG if I can get some argon, right now I can only do flux core or stick as I don't have any gas bottles even though my machine is multi-process. I don't know how to solder so that sort of rules it out as I don't want to practice on something I am trying to fix for someone. Any thoughts?It's a hook type of thing that you mount to your wall by the way, so the hook is a rod that's in the shape of a fishing hook, and the rod is around 3/16" diameter.
