Next year i'll be old enough to get a job welding and I'd prefer night shifts as I just enjoy being up at night more what kind of jobs would I be more looking at? It seems most fab shops and such close in the afternoon. (I would prefer mostly TIG work)
Reply:Well I'd say around here anyways you'd be pretty much looking at a production welder in a factory or possibly a boilermaker chasing plant outages and always picking night shifts...That's all I can think of off the top of my head.-DoogieMiller 350PMiller Trailblazer 325 EFI w/ Excel PowerLincoln LN25 suitcase welderXMT 304/22a feederMiller Syncrowave 350LXMiller EconotigHobart Handler 140(2) Uni-Hydro 42-14Hypertherm 65 plasmaWEBB Gap bed lathe
Reply:well hes in the east bay, i'd thin the east bay oe slightly west, you should be able to find a swing or graveyard w/o too much trouble.     i'd also think, it takes a special mindset to tig for 40hrs+ a week.     i know i cant,    but i cant handle myself on a golf course either
Reply:If you want night shift you will have no problem finding it. Now full time tig welding might be another story. Any larger facility has night shift and most start you off on nights because it is the least desirable .  If you are near a shipyard that is where I would try to go. Many large fab shops have night shifts also but they will not pay as well as a shipyard.
Reply:It is  so much easier to  enjoy the night shift when you are able to go to sleep anytime you want to.
