Reply:Looks like a pretty serious vault. It does make me wonder though, how much is redundant? I mean in all my years I have yet to hear of a team of criminals attack a vault with sledge hammers and cutting torches and all that stuff you see in the movies.12v battery, jumper cables, and a 6013.I only have a facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/pages/VPT/244788508917829

Reply:Aww, that's a piggy bank! The original Diebold plant in Canton, Ohio has a train track running through it that used to ship the real stuff in the 20s and 30s!
Reply:yea, they need to make them strong, so the robbers don't blow them open. It makes me think of the North Hollywood Bank Robbery in the 90s. Two guys who already did some banks, and killed, fired over a thousand rounds at police and news helicopter. They were in heavy body armor w/ full auto Norinco AKs and drum mags. After making them open the vault, one of them tried to shoot open a safe. He didn't get it open, but he ruined some of the money inside. The cops pee shooters werent cutting it, so they literally went to a gun store, and got real rifles, and returned to the shootout. The shootout took 44 minutes, so the movie was named 44 minutes. I remeber when it happened. That incident was a tuning point ofwhen cops getting bigger artillery, and look at them now, it wont be long before they get full auto

Reply:There was a famous robbery in France where the thieves got in the vault through a tunnel and then welded the vault from the inside so no one could get in. It's a quite interesting read. The guy they suspected as the ring leader went to court and jumped out a window and escaped.

Reply:the payoff of that one in France was definately in, being it was the judges window that he jumped out of. Theres a whole book on that one from the 70s. You can have all the vaults you want, but a couple bad apples in the bunch can overide that. I think its an inside job more often than we think whether its petty or big theft.. Just a couple weeks ago in our local community, bank employees were wheeling a cart w/ a large amount of money behind the counter. Just at that moment, 3 individuals entered in masks, no guns, w/o saying a word, jumped the counter, and kindly wheeled the cart to there waitng vehicle, all in one minute. I mean what do you expect, they hire tellers at 10 or 15 dollars an hour w/ tattoos, who live w/ there boyfriend in an apartment.

Reply:Didn't watch the video, but I've used the Slice Torch on steel, cinderblock, and concrete. If there is ANY other way to take something apart, I'll choose the other way first. I still carry scars from that "tool."There's supposedly a 12V ignition system you can use for it (at least there was at the time I used it), but we lit ours with an oxy-acetylene torch. If that tells you anything about how nasty the Slice is. |
