Ford truck thermostat housing

Customer brought in a thermostat housing from a Ford single axle flatbed of some kind.They could not find the part to purchase another one - mechanic shop broke it. Reply:It is times like this when I wonder why the owner or the welder doesn't make a new casting using the original to make a mold. Weld it up, grind it down and make a whole new one. Not just to have a new part, but also to preserve a part no longer available.Just curious....Nice fix!!Or, scan it and use a 3D printer to make a new one as well. So YES you can own too many tools.
