Reply:Yeah, I like to see my gas solenoids holding pressure like that after I close the tank valve too. Some of mine do, and some definitely do not.Miller Syncrowave 350Millermatic 252/ 30A spoolgunMiller Bobcat 225g w/ 3545 spoolgunLincoln PowerArc4000Lincoln 175 Mig Lincoln 135 Mig Everlast 250EX TigCentury ac/dc 230 amp stickVictor O/AHypertherm 1000 plasma
Reply:Is that bad for the gas solenoid to have that pressure on them for a couple days at a time? I usually close the argon bottle then set my post flow to like 3 sec then bump the pedal then turn the machine off. Or is that not needed?
Reply:Moto - not everyone does, but I bleed down all regulators and flow meters. For those with a t-handle, I also back it out loose (like on my mig and oxy/propane cutting torch).Like I said, not everyone does this though.Dave J.Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance. ~George Bernard Shaw~ Syncro 350Invertec v250-sThermal Arc 161 and 300MM210DialarcTried being normal once, didn't take....I think it was a Tuesday.

Reply:That's only reading the high pressure side ( the brass tube threaded into the bottle) you don't weld with that much pressure at the nozzle. The hose is mostly likely at 0 psi Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkLONGEVITY 250EX w/ 25' weldcraft cs310 torchTorchmate w/ Hypertherm powermax 85 withFLASHCUT CNC PRO SERIES CONTROLS

The hose is mostly likely at 0 psi Yeah, but it's a good sign that the gas system is relatively leak-free. If the low side stays pressurized, the internal valving in the regulator doesn't allow more gas to emerge from the high pressure side.Miller Syncrowave 350Millermatic 252/ 30A spoolgunMiller Bobcat 225g w/ 3545 spoolgunLincoln PowerArc4000Lincoln 175 Mig Lincoln 135 Mig Everlast 250EX TigCentury ac/dc 230 amp stickVictor O/AHypertherm 1000 plasma
Reply:Makes me happy too ! my regulators hold pressure like that when everything is tightened down.
Reply:It's not just the solenoid and hose connections. The valve on a high pressure tank can also leak around the stem. That's why you should fully open the valve. There is an additional seal on the back side. If you rent or lease tanks, you'll find that some leak down faster than others after you shut them off.Dynasty 300DXSmith He/Ar gas mixerMM350PHobart Handler 120Smith LW7, MW5, AW1A
Reply:never had the pleasure of seeing that.last time i soaped down the tig-rig to check for bubbles, i tightened a few fittings and 20 min later. . . .
