How good is the quality of the Eastwood welding machines? Both quality of machine ease of use and quality of welds.
Reply:They are pretty solid machines. They also have a 250amp welder too. It's dual voltage.Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer
Reply:Most of what I read there junk. 1 and 2nd day they break. Foot pedal breaks, doesn't even weld and shuts off, fan breaks. Then the guy said they sent him a new fan and the wiring was to short lol. They have like a 5 year warranty but you would be sending it back all the time and paying for shipping both ways. Foot pedal is not under warranty either after 30 days. I think there the same as longevity

Reply:It all depends on the luck of the draw. Some people just have sh**#y luck. I was lucky that both my Eastwood Tig200 AC/DC and my MIG175 (that I still own) were 100% solid with no issues with the machines what so ever. Not even once did I have to use the warranty on either the TIG nor MIG---I did not have to "be sending it back all the time". I only had an issue with the 40A plasma cutter, but they were nice enough to send a pre-paid label through email, and sent me another brand new unit that has had zero issues. I don't use it avidly, but I'm sure a qualified welder could put down some decent beads with it (the MIG175). Ease of use---couldn't be easier, hook up the shielding gas, double check the polarity inside the cover where the spool is, run the spool of wire to the tip, set the voltage and wire feed speed based on the included chart as a baseline, and you're of to the races. Reply:I have the 200DX tig and 175amp mig. The tig has worked great, no issues, but not impressed with the mig. Seems to get a lot more spatter than the 135amp lincoln I had before, and have had the lead pull out of the unit 2-3 times. I am ready to ditch it and get something else. I also have their 60amp plasma cutter, seems to do ok on thinner stuff, but really struggles with anything over 3/8th inch...Checkout my youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/turbocobra

Reply:Would the 135 be sufficient for auto body welding? I can use a stick for suspension mods because I do not figure the 135 will have enough penetration

Reply:I also have the Eastwood Tig 200 AC/DC, Mig 175 and 40 Amp Plasma Cutter. I only had one problem with one regulator and they sent me one right away. I've had them over a year and a half and they work well. For me, it seems like the Mig has more power then advertised. I do "hobby" welding (body work, rotisserie and engine stands, etc) for fun, not my regular job but like how they work. I don't regret buying them. Sold a Lincoln 135 because it was under powered and the mig 175 seems a little over powered but I can turn it down. Very satisfied with the equipment. |
