Tig Lincoln V160 tp

Hello, I'am writing a message from Belgium because Lincoln is more used in the USA as in Europe.Is this normal, when I switch off the machine, the screen (amperage) flashes a couple of times and also the led of the remote control blinks a couple of time. This takes 10 seconds in total.Thanks and sorry for my poor english.
Reply:Hello klaashaas, I am not specifically familiar with the machine you are speaking about, but I would offer this as a possible explanation. Most of the inverter type machines have some fairly sizeable banks of capacitors as a part of the make-up of their electrical circuitry. Those capacitors act as batteries to a certain degree. Thus, when you turn off the power there is a short bit of time where these capacitors might be "bleeding" down and releasing some residual current. This is likely the reason for the things you are seeing. There are likely others on the forum here who have the same machine as you and can say whether or not they have experienced the same sort of thing. There are also a number of people who are very technically savvy when it comes to Lincoln equipment and could explain the process in detail and also comment on whether your machine is like a lot of others when it comes to the flashing and slow shut-down.
