Hi guys I am new here but have a question about purchasing a welder. There is a welder available thru Princess Auto right now called a Century 140. It says 'made by lincoln' on it. Would this be a good welder for a hobbyist? I am doing some body repair and have to do some frame welding on my project truck. It has the same specs as the lincoln 140 except does not come with the gas regulator kit. Has anyone used this welder and can the gas kit from the lincoln be used on it??
Reply:try this linkhttp://content.lincolnelectric.com//...r/im/IM964.pdfFelonPS IMHO would probably work well on body metal with gas"( shielding gas along with KH650 (Shielding Gas Kit) andKH725 (MIG nozzle) are required.)"and as a hobby welder you would likely be happy,I would not be inclined to use it for "anything "structural .PSs I have never had the oportunity to use one but lincoln is usually a sure betLast edited by Felonyass Monk; 01-17-2011 at 08:25 AM.Caution lurker lives here" hmmm That is serious, pass the ganja and pick up a 24 of MGD" |
