aluminum raft frame

Here's a frame I built for a 12' raft that's going down the Grand Canyon in a couple weeks.  The bending was a bit fussy.  One piece of 6061 bent just fine, and the other broke unless I annealed it.  Two different mills, two different pipes I guess. This was the first one I built from scratch, and it came out pretty good. Attached Images
Reply:Nice job. Looks good. The only thing I see that might make it better is to "Kick" the tube on the bottom towards the oar man so he can use it for leverage with his feet. If you have a box against it you will only be able use your toes and sometimes you need to really put some pressure on it in some the rapids.
Reply:It's not apparent from the other picture, but the footbar is angled back to provide the clearance you described.  Both the client and I are commercial raft guides of over 15 years, so we knew exactly what the design requirements were. Attached Images
