About a year or so ago I scored a 3x5' piece of 3" thick butcher block from a guy at work who was remodeling his kitchen for free. I had plans to use it as a reloading bench top, but the wife had other ideas. I happen to like her, so I turned it into a breakfast counter for our kitchen. The frame is made from 1.5" square tube. I chose this as I still had 4 pound in threaded inserts for the feet left over from a previous project. I also had a bag of roll cage gussets hanging around so I incorporated them as well. Its nothing special but the wife loves it. I need to get some better pics of it finished. The wife wanted it free standing so we could slide it out for parties etc. GussetsWelded and top set in placeTop sanded downFrame paintedAll assembled, top oiled, and in place against the peninsula in the kitchen (also pictured my daughter's "Monkey Man" being lazy)Dan
Reply:That looks great! Nice work!
Reply:Good job! What kinda of wood is the top made of? Where did you get the wood?
Reply:Very nice!!!! now the wife will let you get more reloading stuff, that table top is too nice to have made a reloading table out of it....Of all the things I lost I miss my mind the most...I know just enough about everything to be dangerous......You cant cure stupid..only kill it...

I would agree though, this turned out quite nice and the wife is happy, which means "we" are happy. Haha. Dan |
