sorry so many post- but still got happy feet. I need pistons and maybe bearings on my existing Engine (16hp Onan) on my Lincwelder 225 (DC). BUT..I came across one..possibly two Onans that were on Miller welders. Both motors at same guys house, in storage- Running motors when stored 3? years ago. Both have taper shafts- But not Lincoln taper..They are from millers. Would I be better off getting them, or at least one of them and swapping crank over from my Lincoln Onan? I would save approximently $200 or more by not having to buy pistons and maybe bearings.. opinions? Thanks. P.S. My original motor may be missing few things too as was tore down before I got it. Reply:you cant have enough spare parts for the right price, if you can get the motors for a steal, buy them..for 2 reasons..1 to use for parts on your own, 2 to mabe trade with somone that has what you need..either way if there priced right i would pick them up, you could always use them for other things than on a welder..
Reply:Thanks RoadKill- I'll see what I can work out with him. Gene |
