I believe it's a SR450D-540, the tank pressure is fine but the working pressure keeps jumping from 20-25 and back down when I turn the oxygen on from the torch. Could there be a hole or something in my lines, or is it the regulator?"Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. Reply:The regulator has a leak in the control valve. You need to get it fixed or replaced. High pressure Oxygen is very dangerous. With the pressure going up like you say you could have high pressure in the hoses and have a real problem. Check to see if it's cheaper to rebuild or replace. Don't try to do this yourself as any oil, even from just your hands around high pressure Oxygen will explode.

Reply:It's not a leak if the pressure doesn't keep climbing.  I'd bet you're just seeing seeing the variability of the regulator.  I don't think the newer victors are as good as the old ones.  I bought one about two years ago that has similar problems.  It doesn't smoothly 'bleed' pressure though the seat.  It sort of pops on and back off.  Sometimes it gets a nasty buzz at certain draw rates.  I don't know that I see 5 psi of variance though.  That seems like a lot.  I do see enough variability to cause annoyance when I'm using low pressures with a small welding torch.  I've been wanting to upgrade to dual stage regs, but haven't been annoyed enough to justify the $.Dynasty200DX w/coolmate1MM210MM VintageESAB miniarc161ltsLincoln AC225Victor O/A, Smith AW1ACutmaster 81IR 2475N7.5FPRage3Jancy USA1019" SBAEAD-200LE

Reply:I fixed it somehow, I took the T screw all the way out of the regulator and screwed it back in, it works like a charm now. I guess it wasn't getting a good seal on the working pressure or something?"Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself.
