Why are some caps with exact same mfd rating and volt ratings vary in size? Are there any benefit to using a large one over a smaller one with same rating? Possibly better heat dissipation?
Reply:Caps have other ratings such as peak current, ESR, maximum operating temperature, etc. These are generally not shown in catalog listings but can be found in literature on the Mfr's web site.If you are asking about replacement caps for a MIG welder you will want ones made for high current applications and a 105C operating temp.JohnA few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps
Reply:different construction as well, metal film, electrolytic, ceramic. All different uses. |
